D.O Ribera de Duero, 100% Tempranillo. This red wine is made from 3 centenary vines located in Aguilera, within the Ribera Burgos. The vineyard of the Pago de Sotillejos brings a cherry-red color and a deep nose of black fruit; The Pago de los Carrizos contributes the tannins and the tipicity of the area; And to finish, the Paraje de San Juan, a moor located in Boada, at almost 900 meters of altitude, brings the elegance, floral connotations and a complex minerality.
The vineyards from which come the Tempranillo, are vineyards between 30 and 90 years. Different soils are distinguished in each plot, clay-calcareous soils, alluvial limestone and arene-clayey soils.
Each payment is vinified and matured in new barrels, separately, in order to express its unique identity.After the coupage is assembled and aged 18 months in French and American oak barrels.
Pale color with violet border of very high layer and tear pigmented. A nose of very good intensity with very clear aromas of licorice, very typical of the Tinto Fino variety in La Ribera del Duero. Milk notes, fruit in brandy, toast, vanilla, nuts … and above all a lot of fruit, with a slight mineral touch. In the mouth it has a potent entrance, with a balanced acidity, present tannin of good works, that will give the wine of a better texture with the passage of the time. Long walk with a fine finish of fruit and species.
The reality of this project is forged between the stone walls of the Convent of the Claras, in Peñafiel.José Carlos Álvarez and his project decided to materialize in wine the history and geology of the Ribera del Duero.
