Bodegas Martín Códax, is located next to the historic town of Cambados, in the heart of the Salnés Valley, the birthplace of Albariño wine.
In 1986, Bodegas Martín Códax was born and took the name of the most famous Galician troubadour, whose ditties are still preserved, the oldest of the Galician-Portuguese, in which the love of the sea and the sea that bathes the Galician coast is sung. The manuscript containing them, known as “Pergamino Vindel”, is preserved in the Morgan Library in New York.
A project that began with the enthusiasm and effort of a group of winegrowers and which today is already a reality that has made Bodegas Martín Códax an emblem of Galician wines. Martín Códax controls the cultivation of about 450 ha of Albariño vineyard of the best quality, something unthinkable a few years ago, and also guaranteeing the purchase of grapes to 550 families in the Salnés Valley.
