Pícaro del Águila 2014 is a Red Wine made in the Ribera del Duero with a selection of old Tempranillo grapevines in their majority, and a small percentage of Blanca del País,, Garnacha and Bobal (95 % Tempranillo y 5% others), all of them of ecological vineyards.
The Bodega Dominio del Águila makes this wine without stemmed the clusters of grapes and later stepped in wineries. It ferments at controlled temperature and performs malolactic oak barrels, where it also spends 19 more months of aging.
Dynamic and fresh wine that reflects the personality of the terroir. On the nose, it has a pleasant aroma of red and black fruit with sweet and floral touches. Medium bodied, silky texture, it is characterized by its fresh style with sharp fruity notes, juicy tannins and a long and persistent finish. To enjoy now or can be saved for a long time by its good aging capacity – 2021.
Bodegas Dominio del Águila is located in La Aguilera (Burgos) and produces quality organic wines with high aging capacity covered under the Denomination of Origin Ribera del Duero. The winery was founded in 2010 by the couple formed by Jorge Monzón and Isabel Rodero; Have 30 hectares of very old vineyards, most organic farming and 5 of younger vineyards (under 50 years). The vineyard is the true protagonist of the Dominio del Águila project, with little interve- retary elaborations, carrying out all the processes in an artisan way: from infusions of herbs to the treatment of the vineyard, until elaborating without stemmed grapes and footprints as in the past.
