Rioja Red Wine 95% Tempranillo y 5% Mazuelo
Harvest from the oldest parcel of the estate. After the alcoholic fermentation and the pressing, the wine goes directly to new French oak barrels for malolactic fermentation on its lees. It remains 18 months in French oak. Bottled in branch; without any clarification or stabilization, it may present some precipitates.
Cherry red colour with violet edges. Intense nose, with hints of black fruit jam, hardwoods; slightly toasty aroma with notes of caramel and balsamic undertones. Aftertaste with a touch of licorice and smooth tannins.
A marvelous red wine full of personality and that defines a farm surrounded by pinsapos that bring unique connotations to its wines. The vineyard, located in the most border area of Rioja Alta at 650 meters above sea level. They are the tallest and oldest vineyards in the winery, approximately 65 years old, converted from glass to trellis.
Hacienda El Ternero is an enclave of Castile in Rioja Alta. Its origin as a medieval monastery dates from the year 1077. Its history, its location and the limiting altitude of its vineyards make of it a unique wine cellar. The land is never more important. A wine whose name remembers the altitude of the estate and the spruce abies that are in her.
