Red Wine made with the grape varieties: 70% Monastrell , 15 % Cabernet Sauvignon and 15 % Garnacha Tintorera.Vintage after vintage , this red wine from D.O Yecla received many awards . This vintage 2013 has been chosen by R. Parker as one of the 3 best Spanish wines of 2015 .
The strains of Monastrell and Garnacha Tintorera are old vines more than 50 years and the Cabernet Sauvignon over 20 years. These strains are planted in hard and poor soils that support a rigorous continental climate. You harvested during the month of October and very selected manually , are deposited in stainless steel tanks where they perform macerations and fermentations . For wine aging Solanera 2013 they were chosen French oak barrels (80 %) and American (20 % ) where it rests for 10 months. It was bottled without stabilizing or filter so it can present sediments.
It is powerful and with a flavor that only great red wines can boast , formed largely by Monastrell grapes and to a lesser extent cabernet sauvignon and grenache shark , is perfect for those palates who appreciate wines with high alcohol content.
The nose has intense and very clean aromas . In principle, the Solanera old vines of Yecla shows wood with a pleasant toasted and mineral notes with an outstanding memory of graphite. Gradually , the fruit is appearing gaining prominence. ripe black fruit that is interspersed with numerous sweet spicy notes ( mocha , cocoa ), floral aromas. Soft balsamic background .
In mouth is very rich. With a very tasty and fresh way, with floral , cocoas , creamy and memories of snuff clarifying the explosion of fleshy black fruit gourmand . Pleasant acidity and gentle sweet tannins. Long finish that leaves memories sweet tooth with fruit and toasted retronasal .
Its origins go back to the fields where Jumilla Yecla Bodegas Castaño and its American distributor (Eric Solomon) bought the vineyard farm Casa Marta .
